A special event that is also held at the wineries and has grown to be widely recognized is the Livermore Shakespeare Festival which draws performers from all around the nation. This festival was born upon the appreciation of the rhetoric and poetry of the English language and a desire to create and celebrate a rich vibrant community who connect to their own humanity and the humanity of others. As you approach downtown you will be delightfully surprised by its laid back downtown.
